I think that the accessible service on CTA trains is dreadful, from the inaccessibility at train stations to the manual system of helping people in wheelchairs onto the trains. I have seen people sight disabilities wait a disproportionate to get assistance from CTA personnel. Nine times out of ten, personnel just doesn't answer the calls.

Paratransit was much, much better under CTA. We were not in zones, you could call any carrier of your choice for a ride. The on time and drop off times were better and followed. It didn't take a month for your complaints to be responded to so you didn't forget your complaint. We could use CTA's Monthly pass, Half fare pass so we weren't in a position to lose our Paratransit pass. The fares were not doubled.

PLEASE PUT PARATRANSIT BAXCK UNDER CTA!!!!!!!!

I am the Advocacy Minister for WATCHMAN ON THE WALL MINISTRY which sometimes assist seniors with Paratransit service issues. I also applied for and was accepted for employment and went through the orientation for SCR Paratransit. Based on my experiences, the best and only authentic solution to the systemic problem of paratransit malfunction is to establish a "community owned and operated paratransit service" funded solely via public and private contributions and sliding scale token contribution from riders. The $3-$5 fee may seem small to some, but riders on fixed or no income often don't make appointments or can't go to events that could help their condition because it is cost prohibitive. Riders also have to put up with long rides with riders with excessive body oders that exceeds the limits of reasonable civilized standards. Appointment times can never be reasonably established and emergency impulse travel is little or non-existent. "Community based paratransit could merge church, taxi, quality pre-existing paratransit services, and other entities via joint venture to support such an effort.

The paratransit service should be SAFER- safe, affordable, fair, equitable (comparable with fixed route), and rider-friendly. Carrier dispatchers do improper routing at SCR and occasionally at CDT. I have waited a slong as 5 hours for a ride. Pace does not seem to be willing to penaize the carriers in such way to stop the carrier abuses. There s no versight after 5 pm wekdays nor on weekends to correct improper routing and long waits.
